RISHIKESH SHIVIR

RISHIKESH SHIVIRReaching Rishikesh was like fulfilling the vow of a pilgrimage. For half of my life I had always wanted to be in Haridwar and Rishikesh. But somehow my past karmas did not allow me to set foot in this holy land. After reading Pujya Gurumaa’s book,”Beyond the Mind” which motivates disciples to undertake the journey to Rishikesh in end-December at the height of winter and be in the saniddhya of their Guru, I prayed to Gurumaa fervently that I wanted to be in Rishikesh. And lo and behold, I was finally there. We were living in Swargashram, which is believed to be the first step to heaven. This place has been blessed with the footprints of great saints.

The topic of this shivir was the continuation of Gurumaa’s explanation of the great epic, The Bhagwad Geeta, which issued from the lips of the Lord. Gurumaa’s explanation of Chapters V and VI of the Bhagwad Geeta were concise and to the point. She explained very lucidly the difference between a karma yogi and a sankhya yogi. also how sadhana should be done, posture and continuous practice. Her presence as well her bhajans in- between the explanations of the Lord’s message to Arjuna as to how to attain him, filled us all with positive energy. The extreme cold was forgotten in our enthusiasm to be at the pandal gate early in the morning and again in the afternoon. In her grace, the master also granted separate darshan to us on the banks of the Holy Ganga.

Yog Nidra meditation was special and I was fortunate to get the opportunity to practise it twice during the Shivir.

After coming back, I am feeling very rejuvenated. Meditation is also deep after returning from the saniddhya of the Master.

RishiPlease do not keep yourself away from this amazing experience. Experience the oorja of the master.
We also visited the tapasya sthal of our revered Gurudev at Mast Ram Ghat, Rishikesh and heard the wondrous narration of her stay in this vibrating buddhafield more than 20 years ago. It filled me once more with respect and gratitude towards my Guru and I felt blessed to be the disciple of such a great Guru!
