Girls in No Way are Inferior to Boys

Girls in No Way are Inferior to BoysIndia being a developing country is considered a land of where new and new technologies are being developed.

After independence India has developed in each and every field but people are becoming more and more modern with increase in luxurious in their life yet there are people in the rural areas who are still on the edge of being modernized. They are superstitious and believe in old myths. A lot of discrimination is still in their minds between a boy and a girl. A girl child is looked down upon. They are not getting opportunities to study, to work, to be self-dependent.

It is the male who is responsible for the sex ratio of child and not the female but still women are being taunted by their in-laws for giving birth to a girl child.
She is considered the whole sole culprit of giving birth to a girl child. In fear of producing or giving birth to a girl these female get amniocentesis done to know the sex of child in their early pregnancy and get the girl child aborted.

The sex ratio is declining day-by-day 987 in 2001 has reduced to 927 in 2006. This is all because of the myths in our mind according to which a girl is considered a burden to the family. She is said as “PARAYA DHAN.” For the fear of huge amount of dowry, which is needed in girl’s marriage, even high families who always wanted a son to run their business are avoiding girls.

MEN WOMEN

Men are only a part of women; women are early powerful to men. If given the right kind of opportunities they can do wonders.
India has produced women like Kalpana Chawla and Sunita Williams who brought name to our country. It is the woman who gives birth to a child, brought up the child, do all household chores and modern women have even started working, in no way they inferior to men. Then why this discrimination?

It’s high time to end up this discrimination. Consider the male and female child equivalent otherwise it’s we who have to suffer in future. With decreasing sex ratio we will unable to find a match for our sons. The balance will get disturbed which will be harmful for the society. The insecurity for women will further increase with increase in crime in the society.

It’s time to take out the rotten fishes from the pond. Make people free from all myths and superstitions, which can only be done by increasing awareness in them.

Shakti is a program run by Anandmurti Gurumaa for the welfare of girls. In this program financial aid is given to those girls who are orphan, daughters of freedom fighter, daughter of widows. Through this financial aid these girls are provided with education up to 12th level. Now computer knowledge is also being given to them. Many sevadars/disciples go to different schools and are making girls aware of computers usage and Internet usage. By this program Gurumaa is trying to make girls aware of their own strengths, to stand on their own feet. If a girl is educated she can fight against the crimes done on them.
